Project
Genetica-mente acts in the current society for the benefits offered by medical and human genetics, in diagnostics and research fields for the health of society, responding to current and evolving needs and encouraging the development of functional knowledge and skills in the management of genetic conditions.
The project takes its name from the Genetica-mente facebook page, which was founded “as a game” in August 2017 and managed by Selene Cipri and Lisa Vaticano until June 2020. Since July 2020, the Genetica-mente page has continued to conduct outreach and awareness work, countering infodemia and supporting the correct information of scientific results from the expanding field of genetics.
To date Genetica-mente is followed by more than 22,000 people (citizens, patient associations, students, university professors, health professionals) and public and private institutions, nationally and internationally, indirectly becoming a platform in which especially a multitude of patients with genetic conditions and their caregivers land.
